Course Description

Foundations of Geometry is a course designed to explore the fundamental concepts of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries. Topics include congruence, similarity, parallelism, area, volume, circles, and the properties of geometric figures. The course also emphasizes proof techniques and problem-solving skills.

Assessment and Grading

Your grade will be computed as follows:

Lecture Notes 20%
Final Exam 40%

Assessment breakdown

Lecture Notes: You will be asked at the end of the term to submit all lecture notes compiled in the form of a PDF to me. Your lecture notes will be graded on completeness and how carefully you attended to the process. The manner in which you take notes may be idiosyncratic to you, and as such, no student will be penalized for showing individuality and creativity.

Homework will be assigned on Gradescope under the name MATH 325 Summer 24. I have added all registered students on the platform, and you should have received an email prompting you to create a username and password. However, in case this is needed, here is additional information:
