Enhancing Computational Skills with Mathematica
For the last two academic years (22-23 and 23-24), I have been offering sessions where I volunteer my time to teach anyone interested in learning about Mathematica and how to utilize this tool as a computational aid for solving concrete problems. Thus far, attendance at these events has been spotty. I hope to continue offering such opportunities to students and faculty alike.
It is possible that there is a steep learning curve when it comes to Mathematica’s syntax, which may deter individuals who might otherwise be interested in this tool. However, since most well-known Large Language Models these days are able to convert natural language into computer scripts, I hope that the use of powerful Computer Algebra Systems such as Mathematica will increase at our institution.
