Central assignments

Students are encouraged to maintain an Electronic Journal. This will serve as a repository for students learning journey

Here are a few examples you can utilized for your private blog content

Students are required to submit their journal or blog updates to me on a weekly basis via Gradescope.

Rest assured, I will be sending out weekly emails every Sunday, including my feedback on your updates. You may ask, how will the grading be done? Your grade will be determined by the quality of your blog’s or journal content. The primary evaluation criterion is the usefulness of the blog’s content to you as a student.

The grading rubric is as follows:

  • Originality and Creativity: 50%
  • Practicality: how detailed and correct is the content of the blog? 50%

Course score

  1. Electronic Journal: 80% This serves as the primary component of your grade. Your task is to maintain an ongoing digital portfolio or blog, documenting the key skills and concepts you learn related to Mathematica. This journal should be updated on a weekly basis, and I will be providing feedback to further facilitate your learning journey.
  2. Midterm: 10% At the midway point of the course, you will submit a one-page summary outlining the key lessons learned in the course to date. This provides an opportunity for you to reflect upon and consolidate your understanding of the course material.
  3. Final: 10% For the final assessment, you will revise and improve the essay submitted during the midterm based on the feedback received and further knowledge acquired during the rest of the course. This final draft of your essay will demonstrate your comprehensive understanding of the course and your ability to integrate the feedback provided.
